- What juicer to buy, is always an interesting question, and it really depends on you and what you are going to use the juicer for. Please refer do my video page "How to pick the right a juicer"?
- You probably wonder, why can't you use some of the shelved juices that claim to be fresh and organic? Let me say this, try to juice an apple or carrot and leave it out for a couple of days. Does that juice look fresh and nutritious to you? I didn't think so. Store bought juices do not store well at all, they have been pasteurized to stay "fresh" plus have chemicals additives added to them sometimes. Fasting is a detox, so why in the world would you add more chemicals to the "pot"? This is why there is nothing comparable to freshly juiced fruits and vegetables. They are rich in vitamins, minerals and building blocks for your body. And yes, it is safe for children to drink freshly juiced vegetable/fruit juices daily. Two to four ounces are enough for kids. I started my boys early on juice, they were about two years old. You can dilute the juice with spring water for children if you like.
- You should have some herbal teas on hand and some natural supplements to help your kidney and liver detox.
- The other thing I recommend is an enema kit. Longer Fasts should not be attempted without an enema kit.
- Vegetables and some fruits for juicing - greens, carrots, oranges, lemon, celery, apples, beets, etc.
- This is all you need for a successful fast and don't forget the "30 Day Juice Fast" Guide.
Add Comment People with blood sugar problems could be adversely affected by a juice fast. I recommend fasting with diluted vegetable juices if you have syndrome X (insulin resistance) instead of sweet fruits. You can add some granny smith apples for lunch, but do not use them for breakfasts or by themselves and always dilute the juices. Acidic fruits like citrus can give you a stomach "tweak" early morning. Grapefruit juice or orange juice are not the perfect choice for breakfast in general. I do believe, that people with high blood sugar can extremely benefit from a juice fast. Your body could in fact "reboot" and use insulin in a more efficient way, if you stick to a changed and improved diet after your fast Fasting for 3 to 5 days is considered a short term fast. If you go longer it's a long term fast. I have seen people go 40 or more days on a juice fast. In our days, I do NOT recommend a water only fast. It is very harsh on our bodies and involves major detox symptoms, which may need hospitalization if you are very toxic to begin with. For expert fasters it is possible to finish a water only fast but don't go over 10 days. Why not squeeze in a one day fast every Monday or any day of the week? You could achieve the same detox effect in one year as you would with a 30 day juice fast. You probably wondering how a water fast compares to a juice fast. The difference is actually quite impressive, 10 days of water fast is equal to 30 days juice fast. The best idea anyway for seasoned fasters is to combine a juice fast with a water fast. This is done as follows: 5 days juice fast followed by 2-3 days of water fast, again continued by 5 days juice fasting and so forth. Can you imagen the detox effect on this fast? It's approximately equal to a 50 day fast. Now we are talking detox! You know now that fasting is not starving. Fasting is the abstinence from solid food and addictive substances like alcohol, coffee and drugs for a specific time. This is for therapeutic maybe even for religious purposes. Fasting will support your body by resting your digestive system. Do you know why this is so important? Now that you are fasting, your body can use the energy (calories) you are getting by juice fasting to use elsewhere in your system to heal and repair "stuff". Everybody is fasting everyday. Are you aware, that you are indeed fasting ones a day for a couple of hours? While you are resting and dreaming about butterflies at night, your body is fasting and nourishing your body from within. Every-Body knows how to fast because our genes are programed to fast every night. While your are sleeping your body goes to work and cleans and detoxifies your body and repairs stuff. I hear it too often: "Fasting is just unnatural". Actually, it is very natural, and everybody is programed to fast. Don't be intimidated by the word "Fasting", fasting does not mean starving or hunger. Fasting will give you more vitamins and minerals, then you ever took in with eating! If you didn't download the FREE eBook "7 Things you need to know about fasting", please do so now! (more details in the e-Book) Although juice fasts are generally speaking safe, you have to be aware of certain conditions that could be worsened by fasting. For example, if you have Type I (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes, gout and Syndrome X. Pregnant women and Nursing Mothers should never fast, but can without worry add vegetable juices to their daily diets as a breakfast or any snack. If you feel very sick the detox could make your condition temporarily worse. Please speak to your Health Care Practitioner. |
